The [Z]-17 Compact (SS) packs 17.5 feet of radiating length into a collapsed size of just 17.5 inches, making it one of the most compact full-length stainless-steel whips available. Designed for operators who need serious performance in a travel-optimized, packable form factor, the [Z]-17C delivers full-size efficiency without the bulk.
 
With an additional six inches of extended height compared to traditional 17-foot whips, the [Z]-17C offers enhanced tuning flexibility when ground conditions, coil loading, or terrain call for just a bit more whip.
 
When paired with the Scout Base, the [Z]-17C is naturally resonant as a ¼-wave vertical from 20 through 6 meters. It can also be coil-loaded for 40 meters using the Scout 40-17 Coil, Recon 40, or Ranger 80 systems—making it one of the most versatile portable whips in the REZ lineup.
 
The [Z]-17C features a riveted 3/8-24 threaded base, an upgrade over traditional cross-pin designs. This ensures the tubing wall is tightly clamped to the threaded base for superior mechanical strength and consistent electrical contact.
