When paired with the Scout base, the [Z]-17SS is resonant as a ¼-wave vertical from 20 through 6 meters. Add the Scout 4017 loading coil, and it loads up 40 meters with ease. For even more flexibility, pair it with the Recon 40 to cover 40–6 meters, or use it with the Ranger 80 to operate from 80 through 6 meters with a modular, field-tuned system.

IMPORTANT: Due to the length of this antenna is a requirement that the mounting tripod be weighted. We recommend a minimum of 5 lbs. of weight when deploying this whip on the [Z] Pod.
